Follow these steps each day to help maintain clean water in your pool
1) Clean out large debris such as leaves, sticks & bugs out of your skimmer. Rinse out anything else that may be stuck.
2) Use your test kit to measure chlorine level, then record this value.
3) If the level is too low (which it probably will be each day), use the calculator linked above to determine
how much chlorine to add.
4) Add the calculated amount of chlorine using unscented household bleach or by adjusting the time
on your saltwater chlorinator.
After a week or two of measuring daily, you should have a pretty good idea of how much chlorine to add each day so steps 1 & 2 won’t be necessary every single day.
It’s probably best to perform these steps in the evening. At this time of day, your chlorine is at it’s lowest. Also, any chlorine you add will stay in the water overnight.
